Threads Debriefing
Making space to reflect on the journey.
Threads Debriefing provides a safe and supportive space for TCKs and families to reflect on their cross-cultural experiences, process transition and re-entry, and prepare for the season ahead.
Why Debriefing Matters
Cross-cultural life can bring incredible experiences, but it can also involve significant change, loss, transition and adjustment.
For TCKs, these experiences are often happening alongside the normal challenges of growing up. Parents are navigating their own transitions too, which means families don’t always have the space to stop and process what each person has experienced.
Threads Debriefing creates that space — giving parents, children and teens an opportunity to have their experiences heard, reflected on and understood.

How Family Debriefing Works
Threads Debriefing creates space for each member of the family to have their own voice, as well as opportunities to reflect together as a family.
Parents
Time for parents to reflect on their own experiences, transitions, challenges, and the impact that cross-cultural life has had on them and their families.
Children & Teens
Age-appropriate debriefing gives children and young people space to share their story, explore emotions and experiences, and process transitions in ways that work for them.
Whole Family
Time together helps families hear one another’s experiences, recognise what each person has carried and think about how they can move forward together.
Aldinga Beach
Families can book into Aldinga Beach Retreat through Missions Interlink, combining debriefing with time away together.
The retreat offers a peaceful space to slow down, reflect and rest, with Threads Debriefing sessions incorporated into the family’s stay.
Ways We Can Meet
Debriefing can happen in a way that works for your family and circumstances.
Online
For families who are unable to travel, debriefing can also be offered online, allowing families to access support wherever they are.
Other Locations
Debriefing may also be possible interstate or at an organisation-hosted location, depending on circumstances and availability.
